Young people learn in a variety of different ways - not just inside the classroom. There are many learning opportunities outside formal lessons that contribute to the students' personal, cultural and spiritual development. The SHCCC Cultural Policy is designed to recognize community-based learning and other meaningful learning experiences and encourage students to earn credits towards their certificate or dipolma for learning acquired outside school. The criteria for success include the students' ability to function independently, to take an active part in activities, to make their own decisions and give their own views and reflections, and to be self-confident. |
